The simple tip to follow is having dinner before 8 pm. Seems ridiculous, doesn’t it? But believe me, it really works. Give it a thought: You have your dinner at 8 pm and go to sleep at around 11 pm. That gives nearly 4 hours to your stomach to digest the food. You wake up at 7 am next day and have your breakfast at around 8 am. That’s a 12 hours gap between 2 meals and you didn’t even experience hunger pangs. Half a day has passed and you haven’t eaten anything. Impressive, isn’t it?

The secret of this tip lies in the working of our stomach. Stomach is said to be most active during the day time. As night draws near, your stomach becomes less active. Once you are asleep, your digestive system becomes more or less inactive as when we sleep, we require very less amount of energy. Thus, if we eat late, the food stays in stomach when we are inactive, and results in not getting converted to energy. Early dinner also means that you wake up hungry and you can have a heavy breakfast. A heavy breakfast is advisable as it is when we wake up that the digestive system is the most active and can easily digest heavy food.

It may not be always possible to have dinner before 8 pm, due to some unavoidable reason. In such cases, make sure that you eat something light like salad or fruits. Avoid intake of heavy food like gravies, pizza etc. after 8 pm.

Isn’t it remarkable? To lose weight, all you have to do is eat early. And if not early, eat light. Say goodbye to all those diets which stopped you from eating your favorite food. Now you can eat whatever you want, just mind the time!
