Health and Looks
“Health Is Wealth”, as the slogan says, we should realize that, our health is more important than any other thing in our life. Our health is priceless. If we are healthy, then automatically all other things will get into their proper places. But health, the most important thing in our life is ignored by most of the people in today’s world. According to the slogan, only if we are healthy, we can earn more money. A healthy body leads to a healthy skin.
Looks are considered as an important part of a person’s personality. A person initially attracts others towards oneself by his/her looks. In the modern world, the slogan for the young generation may go something like this, “Looks Is Wealth.”
For the young generation, good looks are all they need, even if they have to sacrifice their health for it, they will willingly do it. The young generation is not at all health conscious. People who say they are health conscious are actually the person who are beauty and looks conscious. Young people are so fashion conscious that they compromise with their health and go on a diet. They want to have zero size like television-stars and models and to achieve that they can go to any level without thinking how badly it will affect their health.
Our looks and health are inter-dependent on each other. Clear, bright skin is hallmark of health and wellness that is why it is important to maintain good health, for our looks to seem attractive. Health indirectly affects our looks in many ways. For example, lack of sufficient water causes development of pimples and acnes on our face. It is a dream of everyone to be the owner of healthy, glowing and radiant skin. But, we need to understand that, the glowing of skin begins from inside the body.
Healthy diet is a good skin regimen. In fact if we don’t have proper healthy food or don’t drink lots of water, then our skin will become dull, patchy and tanned. Practicing good hygiene, including regularly washing skin areas with neutral cleansers, reduces amount of dead skin cells and other contaminants that contribute to the birth of pimples. Having healthy food, drinking loads of water, eating fruits and leafy vegetables will make our skin glow. We should avoid processed food and foods that are high in sugar. We should avoid direct contact of sun with our skin. Vitamin C and E reduce damage caused by sun and Vitamin A and B repair skin cells. We should have proper sleep because sleep deprivation leads to dry, dull skin in addition to dark circles.
Hence health should never be compromised for getting better looks because it should be remembered that health and looks always go hand in hand. At the end of the day, call it what you want, inner beauty or outer, there’s just one kind and it’s the kind of beauty you see when you look into the mirror.
